Rhodesian Ridgebacks
Many thanks to the committee for giving me my first judging appointment
Junior 6 (3) – Class of babies, One I really liked refused to be handled
1st Green's Thokozani Cinderella Belle, 10 months light wheaten bitch with pretty expression and correct scissor bite, nice lay of shoulder and turn of stifle with straight front onto tight feet, good ridge, length of body onto correct tail set and carriage, needs to tighten up. She was very playful on the move. BP
2nd Henshall's Suhuba Mali Za, 9 months light wheaten male whose head has yet to strengthen, nice length of neck, straight front onto tight feet, nice ridge, good body length, nice turn of stifle – very immature.
Graduate4 (1)
1st Vincent's Umhlanla Injabulo for Jematti, masculine 18 months mid size wheaten male with correct bone, lovely typical head proportions with nice depth of muzzle and nice expression when he put his ears forward, lovely lay of shoulder and return of upper arm complimented by a good turn of stifle, forechest, infill and depth of chest all good, nice straight front onto tight feet. Would prefer a slightly longer ridge but correct nevertheless. Presented in good muscular condition. Moved with effortless reach and drive and covered the ground with ease BOB
2nd Wilcox Belstone ZukiDuki, pretty and feminine 21 months red wheaten bitch of standard height with good length of neck with nice infill and depth of chest. Did not quite have the angulation of 1, tight feet and correct ridge, moved steadily and covered the ground well.
Open 6 (3) Close decision between 1 and 2
1st Webster's Ngoma Uzuri of Umbari JW, masculine 22 months red wheaten, slightly on the tall side but correct bone, lovely head proportions with good depth of muzzle, good length of neck with balanced angulation front and back, tight feet on a straight front and well let down hocks, would prefer more depth of chest, Presented in good muscular condition. Moved with drive but would have preferred a longer stride.
2nd Gray's Sansilver Sikia, 6 years wheaten bitch with lovely breed type and size, she has a lovely feminine head of correct proportions with nice length of neck and nice bone. Lovely lay of shoulder and length of upper arm, feet could have been tighter, lovely turn of stifle, good ridge. Lacking in the condition of 1. Balanced angulation allowed her to cover the ground with drive.
